LITTLE RICHARD: I AM EVERYTHING tells the story of the Black queer origins of rock n’ roll, exploding the whitewashed canon of American pop music to reveal the innovator – the originator – Richard Penniman. Through a wealth of archival footage, performances, and interviews, the film unspools the icon’s life story with all its switchbacks and contradictions.
Friends of Music’s Mood Swing Orchestra will open the night with a performance at 6 pm, followed by a screening of “I am Everything” at 7pm.
Pizza, decaf coffee and tea will be served and admission is free!
*The main entrance to the theatre is on the Fort street side of Eric Martin Pavillion. If you arrive at the main entrance for Victoria Mental Health, follow the walkway around the left side of the building towards Fort Street to find our entrance.
