Monthly Movie - Forrest Gump

  • EMP Theatre 2328 Trent Street Victoria, BC, V8R 4Z3 Canada (map)

Join us for Monthly Movie Night - a free, community-driven film night that offers a welcoming space to gather, relax, and connect. Each screening takes place in a supportive, non-clinical environment and is designed to encourage shared experience, conversation, and a sense of belonging.

Evenings begin with a pre-movie performance by Friends of Music Society, featuring local musicians and creating a warm, community-centred atmosphere before the film begins.

Movies are selected for their heart, humour, or thought-provoking themes. Light snacks and refreshments are provided, and everyone is welcome - whether you attend with friends or come on your own.

About the movie: Forrest Gump (played by Tom Hanks) is a kind-hearted man with a low IQ but a big heart. Despite being underestimated by others, he goes on an extraordinary life journey - becoming a college football star, serving in the Vietnam War, starting a successful shrimp business, and witnessing historic events along the way.

Throughout it all, Forrest remains guided by simple wisdom and his lifelong love for his childhood friend Jenny (Robin Wright), showing how honesty, perseverance, and kindness can shape a remarkable life.
