Movie Mondays: What's Eating Gilbert Grape

What's Eating Gilbert Grape is a 1993 American coming-of-age drama film directed by Lasse Hallström, and starring Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Juliette Lewis and Darlene Cates. It follows 25-year-old Gilbert (Depp), a grocery store clerk caring for his morbidly obese mother (Cates) and his intellectually disabled younger brother Arnie (DiCaprio) in a fictional sleepy Iowa town, Endora.

Pizza, decaf coffee and tea will be served and admission is free! Friends of Music’s Jazz Improv will open the night with a performance at 6 pm, followed by a screening of “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape” at 7 pm.

*The main entrance to the theatre is on the Fort street side of Eric Martin Pavillion. If you arrive at the main entrance for Victoria Mental Health, follow the walkway around the left side of the building towards Fort Street to find our entrance.
